Security

Our online banking system is safeguarded with some of the most advanced security available in the commercial environment, ensuring that your information is protected while data is transmitted between your computer and our banking server.

At WealthONE, safeguarding your information is top of mind, which is why we offer security features that are continuously being monitored and improved. The use of password requirements, device recognition and security questions are a few examples of how serious we are when it comes to protecting you and your money.

    Encryption

Internet encryption protects your information while it is in transit between your computer and our systems. Encryption ensures that data cannot be read or altered because the information is scrambled. Our Online Banking section of our website uses a 128-bit SSL, encrypting both request and response transactions through a secure connection. To establish a secure connection, verify that the prefix of our website address in your browser reads 'https' (and not simply 'http'). All the browsers we support meet this requirement. If yours does not, please download the appropriate encryption support from your browser's supplier.

Given that email is not a secure medium, we strongly recommend that you never send your information by email to anyone. We will not be responsible for any losses resulting from your transaction requests made via email.

    Controlled Access to Your Accounts

To ensure that you are the only person accessing your personal financial information, we restrict access to the Online Banking section of the site by requiring that you enter your Client ID number and Personal Access Code (PAC) to log in. Your accounts can only be accessed by providing the correct log-in credentials, which only you know. Our employees never know your PAC and we will never ask you to provide us with this information.

Security questions provide an additional layer of security to help confirm your identity and minimize the risk of unauthorized access to your personal and financial information. You will be asked to select your security questions and provide your answers as part of the setup when you log in to Online Banking for the first time. Similar to your PAC, our employees do not have access to the questions or their respective answers and we will never ask you to provide us with this information.

If you try to log in to your account with a new computer or device, you will be asked one or more of the security questions you initially set up to verify your identity in order to prevent unauthorized access to your account and to maintain the integrity of confidential information.

When using telephone banking with a live representative, please ensure that you do not provide your telephone banking password until the representative has asked you the question. Your telephone banking password is the answer to the question you set up with us during your application process. WealthONE Client Service Representatives will always pose the question and will never ask for your telephone banking password beforehand. It is for you to verify that you are speaking with a legitimate WealthONE Client Service Representative. If the Representative cannot provide you with the question, then you can assume the call is fraudulent.

    Memorized Accounts Feature

We use a persistent cookie to store information to help personalize the site for you and make it easier to use. For example, we allow you to make the log in easier by remembering your log-in information within our Memorized Accounts feature. Since the Memorized Accounts feature is optional, it must be enabled by you by clicking “Register this computer” when you log in with a new device for the first time. This type of cookie only contains information that you have entered into it and every time you clear your cookies, you will have to re-register your device. We never store your PAC in a cookie.

Note: You should only register a mobile device or computer if it is your own, or if you are the only person who uses it (e.g. your home or personal work computer). Do not register shared computers (e.g. shared work computers, public library computers).

    Alert Messages

This feature allows you to choose which alert messages you would like to receive regarding security or banking activity in your account. To enable this feature, please log in to Online Banking and visit the “Messages and Alerts” section.

    Enhanced Security Login Process

The first time you log in to your online banking account, you will be asked to choose from a list of security questions and answers. Be sure to pick questions with answers that are not easy to guess and to which only you would know the answer (not even your family members or close friends). If you have a joint account, the questions and answers for both users must coincide. You can register your home or personal computer so that you will not have to answer a security question every time you log in. However, when you log in to your account from another device, we will ask you one of the security questions to confirm your identity.

For security reasons, we track the number of log-in attempts used to access your Online Banking. After a number of incorrect attempts to log in, your online access will be disabled until the following day. If you have forgotten your password and need to re-gain access, please call us at 1.866.392.1088 so we may go through the process of resetting your PAC with you.

    Application Forms

To provide you with a convenient method of applying for savings accounts and GICs and for accessing other WealthONE products and services such as Retirement and Tax-Free Savings Plans, we may provide secure online application forms. These forms capture personal information that we use to provide you with the products and services you request. This information is processed in a similar way to application forms we receive through our other channels.

    Help Us Protect Your Information
